Marie Dent founded Petit Panier in 2021, born from a love of traditional craftsmanship, sustainable materials and timeless objects.
Growing up in France, Marie spent weekends exploring village markets and brocantes with her parents. Those early experiences shaped her appreciation for vintage finds with a story to tell.
After 10 years in London, Marie and her family made the move to the Hampshire countryside, swapping city life for space and the room to create. The move offered space to slow down, reconnect with nature and rediscover the importance of home. As a mother of two, home took on a whole new meaning, becoming a reflection of the things we love, collect and pass on, a growing appreciation for natural materials, traditional making techniques and pieces designed to be cherished for years to come.
Today, Petit Panier brings together artisan-made homeware, original designs and carefully sourced vintage finds. From wavy trays and wicker shades to fabrics and wallpapers, Marie works closely with skilled artisans who share a commitment to quality, authenticity and responsible production.
Sustainability isn't an afterthought at Petit Panier. It's at the core of what we do, from the materials we choose to the way each piece is made and finished.
We work in small batches with skilled artisans, favouring natural, renewable materials such as handwoven wicker, sisal, rattan, linen and stoneware. No plastics, no synthetics, just honest materials built to stand the test of time.
Many of our pieces are handcrafted by skilled makers, using techniques passed down through generations, and many are made to order, reducing waste and ensuring each item is made with care, not mass-produced.
Vintage and brocante finds sit alongside our collection for a reason: giving pre-loved pieces a new home is one of the most sustainable choices we can make. Each one carries its own history, a small act of care for both the planet and the story behind it.
Care continues beyond the product itself: our packaging includes biodegradable wrapping and recyclable boxes, so sustainability doesn't stop at checkout. A portion of every order also goes towards funding verified carbon removal projects, helping to support the development of permanent carbon removal technologies, through our partnership with Stripe Climate.
We believe that buying less, but buying more consciously, is at the heart of a more thoughtful way of living. Every piece in our collection is designed to be used, loved and passed on for years to come.
