Petit Panier is my studio and shop in the Hampshire countryside. I am Marie Dent and founded Petit Panier in 2021 out of a love for timeless craftsmanship, sustainable materials, and beautifully made objects. Every piece, whether designed in-house or carefully sourced, has a story to tell.
I grew up in France, where my love of brocante began at a young age following my parents on weekends at village markets, discovering and collecting vintage treasures, full of history and character. My creative path later led me into design and the art world, working on exhibitions linked to the Saatchi Gallery and François Pinault collections, which deepened my appreciation for visual storytelling and the way art can shift a mood, stir a memory, or make you feel something instantly.
After ten years in London, I moved to the countryside with my husband and two children, trading city life for a slower rhythm and the space to create. Petit Panier was born from that shift, a place where French charm meets English craftsmanship.
Today, I design my own collections, from handmade cushions to wavy trays, and collaborate with the best artisans to bring my vision to life. I also curate unique finds and vintage art.
Petit Panier isn’t just about objects, it’s about how they make a space feel. I draw inspiration from classic French design, vintage craftsmanship, and the kind of honest materials that only get better with time. I love creating pieces that feel layered, lived-in, and connected to nature through texture, tone, and craft.
